Combined fast-assembling type glass fiber reinforced plastic(FRP) retaining dam for water system remediation



I. Product Overview
As the combined fast-assembling type glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) retaining dam for water system remediation is made of a new type of glass fiber reinforced plastics, it has a lot of advantages, such as high strength, impact resistance, good impermeability, corrosion resistance, and low comprehensive costs, etc.. Meanwhile, the modular design is convenient for transportation and quick assembly, making the FRP retaining dam suitable for various river segments. FRP retaining dam can be used to raise water level or to realize water dropping aeration in the process of river regulation or restoration.
As a new type of retaining dam, the product has obtained national utility model patent (No.: CN 204589927 U).

II. Product structure
The glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) dam body is formed by a dam top, a front lateral plate and a rear lateral plate through combination. The dam top is in the shape of circular arc, the front lateral plate and the rear lateral plate are in sealing connection with the front end and the rear end of the dam top respectively, and the front lateral plate and the rear lateral plate can be adjusted according to the water retaining height. A matched FRP casing sleeve is arranged inside the FRP dam body; the FRP dam body is fixedly connected with the frame supporting system through an FRP casing sleeve, wherein the frame supporting system is pre-embedded in a river channel. In addition, the frame supporting system is a pipe pile supporting, which has been subjected to anticorrosive treatment. The lower end of the longitudinal pipe pile is in the shape of pointed nose, while the two ends of the horizontal pipe pile are fixedly connected with the FRP dam body through the internal stiffener plate, which is arranged on the dam body.

The length of the combined fast-assembling type FRP retaining dam for water system remediation can be adjusted by connecting a number of standard single modules. The widths of single modules in the construction vary, e.g., 1.5m, 0.9m, and 0.6m, etc..
The FRP retaining dam, once assembled, can raise the water level of upper reaches by intercepting upstream river water. The spilling water over the dam top will flow down along the rear lateral plate, while the water drops from a great height for aeration, which is helpful for river restoration. In addition, the dam is practical and good in appearance, which improves the river landscape.

III. Product features
Compared to commonly used rubber dam or steel dam in water remediation, the FRP retaining dam has the following advantages:
(1) The FRP has the advantages of light weight, good rigidity, high mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, impermeability, elegant shape and the like; therefore, the product is weakly affected by water environment, featuring good water retaining effect, long service life and the like.
(2) With reasonable structure design and reliable supporting and fixing systems, the dam body will not be distorted or displaced under force, while the dam is very stable and reliable.
(3) With standardized and modular design, the product is easy to be manufactured, transported and assembled, which shortens the construction time.
(4) As it saves steel, wood and cement, the cost is reduced.
(5) The surface of the dam body is smooth without blocking water, and the product is light in weight and effectively aseismic.
(6) The product has good adaptability. Users can adopt standard extension mode by connecting a number of standard single modules to increase the length or combination mode according to water depth and river width.

V. Scope of application
This product is mainly used in the field of river regulation and repair. Through the interception effect of this product, the water level drop is added. Through the uniform overflow on the crest, the waterfall is formed, to achieve the oxygenation function for the river water body. Then, we can achieve the lifting of water level, water dropping and oxygenation.
This product can also be used for occasions of landscape falling into water,  movable cofferdams, temporary water retaining projects, etc..
